Félix Mory, the dynamic French golfer, is gearing up to continue his recent streak of impressive performances as he heads to the Kaskáda Golf Challenge at Golf Resort Kaskáda this week.
This event, set against the picturesque backdrop of Brno, Czech Republic, could be a pivotal moment in Mory’s season as he aims to climb higher in the Road to Mallorca Rankings.
Since kick-starting his Road to Mallorca campaign with a tied-seventh finish at the Abu Dhabi Challenge in April, Mory has been a model of consistency.
He has not placed lower than 17th in his last five tournaments, a run of form that has catapulted him 99 places up the rankings to 27th.
With the top 20 players at the season’s end earning promotion to the prestigious DP World Tour, Mory’s goal is within tantalizing reach.
Reflecting on his progress, Mory shared, “I think every year I’m becoming a better player.
Last year I was closer as I finished 31st, and I missed by one shot at DP World Tour Qualifying School with a lip-out on the final hole.”
Mory’s near misses over the past three seasons have only strengthened his resolve.
“I can see myself improving, but you can’t force things in golf. I try not to think about the results, but of course, we all know it’s there and we all want to finish in the top 20.”
“I’m pleased with where my game is at. I’m working in the right direction. I’m just playing my game and trying to come to every tournament with no expectations and just do the best I possibly can.”
The 29-year-old golfer’s optimism is rooted in his solid performance history at the Kaskáda Golf Challenge.
Last year, Mory secured a share of ninth place, and he is eager to build on that success.
“I like it a lot here,” he added. “It’s very relaxing I think, so I enjoy coming back here and I love the course.”
“If the rough is anything like last year, it’s going to be a good test, but it’s just a fun week.”
Mory’s strengths on the course are well-suited to the challenges presented by Golf Resort Kaskáda.
“I’m usually pretty good off the tee and I’m fairly long too, so if I can get the driver working, then I think I will have a few opportunities.”
The Kaskáda Golf Challenge promises to be a competitive event, drawing a strong field.
Among the participants are Road to Mallorca Number Two John Parry and DP World Tour winners Alexander Levy and Marc Warren.
The tournament kicks off at 7:30 am on Thursday, with Mory set to tee off alongside Irishman Conor Purcell and local favourite Timotej Formanek at 1:10 pm.
As Mory steps onto the lush fairways of Golf Resort Kaskáda, he does so with the quiet confidence of a player who knows his game is on the rise.
A strong showing this week could edge him closer to his dream of joining the DP World Tour, turning near misses into triumphant milestones.
