PXG Founder and GoDaddy Bob Parsons Releases Outrageous New Book

Bob Parsons, the entrepreneur and philanthropist known for founding GoDaddy, PXG, and YAM Worldwide, has just released his first book, “FIRE IN THE HOLE! THE UNTOLD STORY OF MY TRAUMATIC LIFE AND EXPLOSIVE SUCCESS.”

This debut book, published by Forefront Books on May 7, offers a candid and inspirational account of Parsons’ journey from a humble beginning to his remarkable success in the tech world.

For those who think they know Bob Parsons, the book provides a deeper look into his life, filled with stories and insights from an optimist who persevered despite adversity.

Parsons described the book as “honest, hilarious, outrageous and raw.” He added, “This is a story of how I started with absolutely nothing and made over $3 billion.”

The book is now available at major retailers, and Parsons is embarking on a national book tour across the United States.

Born into a blue-collar, working-class family in East Baltimore, Parsons grew up in the 1950s and developed a strong sense of resilience.

His early years and military service as a United States Marine in Vietnam shaped his character, leading him to establish Parsons Technology, which was the first of several successful ventures.

According to the Forbes 400 list of 2023, Parsons is now one of the wealthiest people in America, with a net worth of $3.6 billion.

Carlton W. Kent, the 16th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, commented on the book, saying, “As the title of this book, Fire in the Hole!, suggests, Bob has dodged a lot of grenades in life, but it was more than luck that led him to where he is today.”

Kent also noted that Parsons’ story could inspire others to reach their own success.

In the book, Parsons opens up about his struggle with PTSD, stemming from both his early childhood trauma and combat duty in Vietnam.

He discusses the unique ways he has addressed this challenge, including novel therapies involving psychedelics, such as psilocybin, that have helped him cope.

His advocacy for psychedelic-assisted therapy has included testifying in support of legalization in Arizona, as well as donating millions to related research and therapist training.

Beyond business success, Parsons has turned his focus to philanthropy. He and his wife Renee founded The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation in 2012, aimed at supporting low-income and underserved populations, marginalized communities, and causes that often go overlooked.

The foundation’s focus areas include youth and education, health and home, military and first responders, and the American dream. To date, the foundation has donated more than $300 million to 96 charities.

Parsons’ book reflects his genuine approach to life, business, and philanthropy, with a mix of heartbreak, humor, and inspiration.

Rob Lowe, the actor, producer, and author, praised Parsons’ book, saying, “Bob Parsons is an American original.

He is a visionary and inspiration and has the stories to prove it. Fire in the Hole! is as interesting and outrageous as the man himself.”
