Introducing The Clutch: South Seas Unveils New 12-Hole Golf Course on Captiva Island

South Seas, nestled on Captiva Island along Florida’s Gulf Coast, celebrates the debut of its latest attraction: The Clutch, a brand-new 12-hole golf course.

Designed by Beau Welling, The Clutch promises captivating coastal vistas and a delightful golfing experience for players of all levels.

The course’s opening marks a significant milestone in South Seas’ ongoing rejuvenation following Hurricane Ian’s impact.

Named after a turtle’s nest, The Clutch offers a refreshing take on golf, encouraging a leisurely pace with rounds averaging 60-90 minutes.

While designed for walking, golf carts are available for added convenience.

Boasting individualized challenges and multiple play routes, The Clutch epitomizes contemporary golf design, aligning with the growing popularity of short courses.

South Seas’ General Manager, Shawn Farrell, anticipates The Clutch’s ascent to the ranks of top U.S. short courses, rivalling renowned venues like Pinehurst and Pebble Beach.

Exclusive to resort guests and Captiva Club members, The Clutch features meticulously crafted greens, ensuring a balance of enjoyment and challenge.

Each of The Clutch’s 12 holes pays homage to Captiva Island’s rich history, landscape, and wildlife.

From the Native American Calusa tribe to the majestic manatees, every aspect of the island’s heritage is woven into the course’s fabric.

Embark on a golfing journey through captivating holes like “The Calusa,” “Key Lime,” and “Manatee,” each reflecting a unique facet of Captiva’s allure.

Immerse yourself in the island’s natural splendour as you tee off amidst breathtaking vistas and abundant wildlife sightings.

Accessible via Sanibel Causeway, Captiva Island offers a tranquil escape from the mainland, with South Seas serving as its premier destination.

With powder-white beaches and azure waters as its backdrop, The Clutch at South Seas promises an unforgettable golfing experience for enthusiasts seeking both challenge and serenity.
