Alexandra Forsterling’s Triumph: How a Final Day Surge Sealed Victory at Aramco Team Series

A thrilling final day at the Feather Sound Country Club marked the culmination of the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa, with German golfer Alexandra Forsterling emerging as the champion, showcasing a stellar performance that left her competitors trailing behind.

With a remarkable score of five-under-par on the last day, Forsterling’s display of skill and composure underscored her rising status in the golfing world.

Forsterling’s journey to victory was nothing short of impressive, as she navigated the challenging course with finesse, recording three birdies on both the front and back nine to secure her third win on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and her first on the global event series.

Her triumph not only solidified her place among golf’s elite but also highlighted the depth of talent emerging on the LET.

Reflecting on her win, “I feel overwhelmed, I don’t know what to say, it’s just an amazing feeling,” said Forsterling moments after securing the title.

“I was definitely nervous, you always are in the final round. I just tried to learn from the last times when I won and just play my game, try to adjust to the wind and have fun.”

The German, who only turned professional last season, is still finding her feet alongside some of the legendary names on the LET, and today was no different when paired with Solheim Cup winners.

“I am not going to lie, I was a little bit intimidated in the beginning! It’s great to play with Charley [Hull] and Carlota [Ciganda], they play so well. I just tried to keep up with them. It was really fun.

“Playing in the Solheim Cup like they have would be a great honour. To play in that event and represent Europe would be amazing and mean a lot to me.”

Despite nerves on the final day, she remained focused on her game, adapting to the windy conditions and ultimately savouring the momentous victory.

However, Forsterling’s path to victory was not without formidable competition, notably from World No. 8 Charley Hull, who entered the final day with the lead.

Despite her best efforts, Hull ultimately finished three shots behind Forsterling, acknowledging the challenges posed by the unpredictable wind.

Nevertheless, Hull’s resilience and solid performance throughout the tournament reaffirmed her status as one of Europe’s top-ranked players.

Joining Forsterling and Hull in the top ranks were Solheim Cup superstar Carlota Ciganda and the talented Bronte Law, both of whom showcased their skills amidst fierce competition.
